Hi all, my first post. :)

Just received my Yi cam. Did software upgrade to 1.2.0.
The problem is I'm getting corrupted video files.
It's not happening all the time but it's fairly common.
Tried using different resolution and frame rate settings, no difference.
The corrupted files are big (couple of gigabytes).
I'm not sure what could be the problem.

Here is the screenshot of corrupted files

If you upgrade, remove files on the SD card, make scripts wich do not work and seem to brick your YI and/or give other strange results on video:
RE-FORMAT your SD card . Put in YI. Startup YI. Wait until it creates the 2 folders (startup correctly). Shut it down. Power it up and create video...
My 2 cents.

I think it's the FWs problem. But could also be the card's problem.
Try first reformatting. If nothing changes, reflash the FW or downgrade.

I've reformatted the card multiple times.
Flashed FW again and still the same.
Didn't try downgrading, what's the procedure for downgrade? @vikingsail

I'll try to borrow sd card from a friend and try it.
Really hope it's the sd card. Bought it from aliexpress. It says Samsung 64GB class 10, but for 10$ maybe it's fake and can't deal with that speeds.

@Quadraf didn't understand the part with the script. Could you explain?
Thanks for answers guys

that's exactly the problem. SD cards and hard disks have regular price/capacity ratio. don't try to buy something ridiculously cheap and hope that works...
many FAKE ones use custom FW telling the device it's 64GB or 128GB or even higher. The thing is it maybe only have 8 GB or less capacity.

With scripts you can increase for instance bitrate and resolution. When a script is not correct because you have a different hardware version (22,23L etc) then where the script is made for, al kind of things can happen... (strange lockups etc).
When formatting the card must be "deep" formatted and not the quick format option!

Ok, I bought new Kingston 32 GB memory card from local computer store. Did some test footage and everything seems ok.
I'll test it more these days and update this treat with the results.
The old memory card is on deep format and than on h2 test. Will post the results later.
For now it seems I've been a victim of a counterfeit seller! If I knew prices for class 10 microSD cards, probably I wouldn't buy the cheap one. Will leave negative feedback on that seller and link it here for others not to get scammed.

@Quadraf Ok, understand now. I haven't installed any scripts.

EDIT

Here is the log from h2testw:

The media is likely to be defective.
3.4 GByte OK (7159261 sectors)
59.0 GByte DATA LOST (123879971 sectors)
Details:0 KByte overwritten (0 sectors)
0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors)
59.0 GByte corrupted (123879971 sectors)
0 KByte aliased memory (0 sectors)
First error at offset: 0x0000000004d58c00
Expected: 0x0000000004d58c00

H2testw version 1.3
Writing speed: 7.54 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.7 MByte/s

So, it confirms the doubts that sdCard was defective.
Actually, I'm glad it's the memory card. Ok, I got scammed but I'm happy that my Yi is fine :)

Posting link to the seller as soon as I trace it.
