I have practiced crimping with the wrong tool, thats why i dont do it anymore, my soldering iron is my go to tool for working wires in the car.
Doing IP cameras for my friend he got raw wire - loose RJ45 plugs and the crimp pliers for that,,,,,, it took me a few tries to get it working, my friend did not even try.
But he is also the guy that will buy a 3D printer or something like that in the hope that someone else will run it for him, he also got a cutting plotter decades ago to make stencils for when painting, i think it was used 3-4 times by his nephew and then it just sat there collecting dust.
