Dashcam choice: 70mai A500S vs Viofo A229 Plus 2CH

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner driver based in Bucharest, Romania, and I'm trying to decide between two dashcam setups for legal protection in case of accidents (mainly someone hitting me, not the other way around).

The two options I'm considering:
- 70mai A500S + RC06 rear cam (~600 RON / ~120€)
- Viofo A229 Plus 2CH (~1000 RON / ~200€)


I don't have many options for known brands of dashcams in Romania, but I'm willing to order from abroad if the dashcam is really good. I'd want a dual dashcam (back and front), not more expensive than 300 EUR for the whole thing.

The Viofo is a much better camera. It's more reliable and is a better camera unit overall. Small note is that the 500s uses a lithium ion as internal battery which has a greater risk of having a failure overtime or in high heat conditions (parked in direct sunlight).
Don't need to look further than the a229plus, it's a really good options without going into high end stuff. 🙂
