Hello - does anyone know where I can find a list (and sample) of all file formats for the most popular dashcams? I am trying to build a small database for them.
At the moment I know the following formats:

Model--------GPS FileName-------Sentence Type Supported-----Video Format
BlackVue-----NNN.gps-------------$GPRMC -----------------------.mp4
Navman------NNN.NMEA----------$GPRMC -----------------------.mp4
DDPsi---------NNN.gpx------------ $GPRMC -----------------------.mp4

etc

Thanks Alex

Video container of video codec?
Perhaps add another column to your table.

Viofo uses the .mp4 container.
It uses either video codec H264 or HEVC (H265)(MPEG-H Part 2) as a hidden feature in some dashcams it makes.
All GPS information is stored in the video file.

Yes, I was wondering about that and whether some may even use .mks as a container.

Most current good dashcams use Novatek processors, and they all put the GPS data into the video file, normally a .mp4 file, sometimes a .ts file. Putting it in a separate file means that it doesn't get copied with the video, that makes no more sense than storing audio in a separate file from the video, which would make it a not good dashcam!
