DR 650s - What motion settings are recommended?

New guy to forum, hi all! Also, new to dashcams, getting a lot of false alarm motion detection in parking mode DR-650s.

What motion settings are recommended? I know I need to turn it down from defaults, not sure how low to go, or if I should use different thresholds in the different directions?

I just left default settings and turned off audible beep. If something happens I know I can just check the playback for time incident occurred.

Depends on lighting. Usually I set 1.

For motion detection I set mine to 10/100, do note that at night the sensitivity is going to be a lot lower.
For example, leaves blowing in the wind during the day will trigger recording but at night it may not pick that up as motion.
Not a big deal with cars since headlights/taillights will trigger motion detection pretty reliably at night but if it's someone loitering by your car in a dimly lit area, the higher sensitivity might pick it up better
