DVR-027 only recording 1 segment

Help,
My DVR-027 will only record one 5 minute segment or three 2 min segments. When I look at the files on the card it only has the last recordings on it.

I have reset factory settings and the card is a class10 8gb sandisk ultra. Haven't got a clue about formatting the card as I am using an apple computer.

My 0-27 dvr has an option for formating the sd-card in the file menu. You simply press the mode-button twice after powering up the dvr and then press the menu-button and chose "format". Don't you have that option?

If you have a more recent Mac, you will have a card reader slot. I don't so I formatted the card by connecting the camera via USB to my older MacBook.
Then go to Disk Utility, choose the card and choose erase. Be sure that it is set to MS-DOS (FAT)

Thanks to both of your help. All is good now.

They might be a cheap dash cam but the image quality is excellent.
