Error when locking file

Hi all,

After upgrading to 20131202 my 0801 seems stable...doesn't freeze anymore and seems to loop the recording nicely.
I also use the recommended Samsung 32 GB class 6.

Now I've noticed that whenever something happens and I want to lock the current file by pressing arrow down the camera displays an error message that states "low speed card" stops recording and then displays"storage error" (I've tried the same action with a class 10 card and get the same error message).

Any ideas anyone how to tackle this problem?

I get the same (also using the Samsung 32GB Class 6 card). Loop recording seems ok, but if the cards over about 1/2 full it shuts down if I try to lock a file. In my testing, if I mute the audio (top button) before pressing the lock (down) button, it didn't seem to error. Then after a few mins (when the lock symbol goes) you can un-mute be pressing the up button again.

Just tried your solution and I must acknowledge that it works. For now (until decent firmware arrives) I'm setting the mini up by just recording image. Hopefully in the near future our superusers will tackle this issue.

I am also on 1202 and I just got a 32 GB card because I was going on a long trip. This error is happening to me. The camera shuts down after I lock a file. I have lost 2 important video moments due to this stupid error!!

The first was me speeding up to go through a YELLOW light in LA which turned RED as I passed through it. Only then did I think about the Red-Light cameras that were there (I'm not from LA). I NEEDED that video to be saved!!!

The second was a shooting star that that happened in the upper right of my windshield. The "star" also burned up in a nice green fireball. It was awesome to see and a wonderful final surprise for our vacation. I tried to lock the file and now there a 5 minute gap where that clip was!!! This is ridiculous!

This the first time I have experienced ANY recording errors with my camera. It doesn't surprise me that it only happened now that I popped a 32GB card into it (which by the way is a Class 10 which was erroneously shipped to me by Amazon when I attempted to purchase a Class 6, not that it would have helped according to the first post) Both times, the camera seemed to shut down some time after I locked the file. It seemed as though it waited to finish and save the file before shutting down, so although I was concerned and irritated, I thought "at least I should have the file saved". But after checking, I have lost BOTH!

What a ridiculous and frustrating error! The function that is SUPPOSED to preserve your important files actually causes them to be DELETED!

Ok, I've done some testing on my fully-filled SD card and I can also confirm that pressing the mute button before the lock button avoids the problem.

Again, I'm on 1202 and this was using a Samsung 32GB Class 10 card.

EDIT: Update. I discovered I still have the yellow/red light footage, only the file that immediately followed was lost. However I did in fact loose my shooting-star footage 😡😡😡😡😡🙁. I'll just tell myself it was too small to show up in the recording anyway 🙁

That problem is known but you using a class 10 maybe creating additional problems. My experience is that a class 6 works best. Lets just hope that some of the wiz kids here can tackle this error problem
