The method of using OCR to extract the GPS data is very innovative! :)

An alternate method @WA3PNT is to use the GPX export feature of Dashcam Viewer.

The GPX export feature of Dashcam Viewer only works if the GPS information is embedded as a separate stream in the video file. If this is available, this is the preferred method. Registrator Viewer also does this. If the video file does not have this data stream then the GPX export feature of both these programs will give you a useless GPX file. On the other hand GPX Extractor reads the GPS information from the text displayed in the video itself. So if you can see GPS information on the dashcam video, then GPX Extractor will be able to extract this to a GPX file.

Thank you for providing a video sample. I had a look at this, and the error that you are seeing is because GPX Extractor is not detecting the text. The Settings file was based on the single frame that I had available. The text in this dashcam video is not the easiest to detect because it does not have a shadow. So if the text appears on a yellow background, for instance, even a human will have difficulty reading it.

What I have done is that I have updated GPX Extractor to allow the definition of "forbidden zones" within the text detection region (version 1.2.0.0). With this new version you can highlight text within the selection region that the program should ignore. This allows the program to read more accurately the relevant data. I have also updated the settings file. So please download the new version of GPX Extractor and the corresponding Settings file and let me know if it works for you.
