oh great wise ones...

I'm new to the dashcam world, and have just purchased three of what I thought were the same thing*, but maybe not.

(A) How do I figure out which Junsun product # or model I have?

(B) One lists firmware as ol_jnb_966_20190529_v0.1 and the other simply 966_20190221 -- is later better? Is later a completely different hardware / model underneath? How does one obtain new firmware?

(C) Any general thoughts on these for me, the noob? Should I return these and buy something else? I was hoping to find a decently priced, front and rear dashcam with backup parking lines and g-force sensor, that would survive inside a car in the california summer.

Thanks

K

if they work leave them alone, these are Chinese domestic market products, the spec can change from production to production, reflashing with a different firmware from another seemingly identical product can render them useless

Thank you, I appreciate your point. Same was true of Linksys routers, back in the day -- different firmware for even same model "v1" and "v2" production dates.

But what I'm asking is (A) How do I even find the model number / are these the same cams, and (B) is the later firmware unit better, different, etc, and (C) any opinions on their quality & durability for the price? (Because, doggone, $50-$70 for a front and rear 10" unit with all those features, well...)

Thank you for any thoughts or personal experiences on (A), (B), or (C).

no personal experience of these particular models, as I said if they have different firmware versions it's quite likely there are variations in the hardware, this is not the type of product that sees maintenance updates

if they work leave them alone and enjoy them while they last
