Firmware updates

I have a 512gw +512gwr, they are at least 6 maybe 7 years old now, and never been updated.
What is the latest firmware available please.

Hi,

For the 512GW it's R22.5. The 512GWRC doesn't have it's own updatable firmware.

What firmware is your 512GW on please?
1) Turn the Dash Cam on
2) Stop it recording
3) Press the Menu Button Twice to enter the Setup Menu.
4) Scroll down to ‘System Info’
5) Look at the Firmware number RXX.XX

If it's a older firmware version than R22.5 (a lower number) then you will need to update the dashcam.
In order to update your dashcam you can either use the Replay 3 program available from our support page , or manually download the firmware file to be copied to your SD card. Both of these methods will require the use of a PC (Windows or Mac).

For the Replay 3 method you will first need to download the program from your dashcam's support page. https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/help-and-support/dash-cams/512gw-support/
Once downloaded, connect your dashcam to the PC using the supplied Mini USB cable. When prompted on the dashcam's display select 'Update' for this to be visible to your PC. Then select the 'Update Dashcam' button on Replay 3 to check for any available firmware updates.

For the manual method, you will need to download the file found under the 'Firmware' section of your dashcam's support page, extract the firmware file and copy this directly to the SD card for your dashcam. You can either insert the SD card directly into the PC to do this, or leave in the dashcam and when connected via USB cable select 'Update'. The firmware file will need to be copied to a blank space on the SD before then powering the dashcam with the SD card and firmware file present to begin the update.
