Apparently some carmaker brands such as ZEEKR and BYD already are starting to implement thermal cameras for ADAS in their vehicles. I think that eventually as cost comes down (which it already has in standalone thermal imagers over the years), it will be commonplace.

Good that Vantrue is at least first to market for those who don't have AEB in their vehicles, or are wanting to complement existing AEB.

Plus there are many older cars without collision mitigation systems. If the P2 can provide some advanced warning to help drivers, then there's definitely a benefit. My vehicle is 10 years old at this point, and lacks advanced braking beyond something called City Safety. I didn't buy the model with all the bells and whistles at the time, because I needed a car ASAP after my got totaled. Had to grab something and settled on what I could find new in affordable price range. Of course, the tech would be outdated by now.

Whenever it comes time to replace my car, I'm sure the tech will be more standard. For people like me, adding some modern tech isn't bad pending the tech works.

I do hope that people with this system dont just floor the brake every time the dashcam go beep

Still interesting though, the smartest thing in my car,,,,,, well i like to say me but it is probably the ABS system.
