With the space between mirror and windscreen blocked by other accessories
I have been looking for other ways to mount my DVR-207 somewhere else.
There is space between sun visor and windscreen if the height of the mount
is minimal. If the unit sits close to the windscreen the sun visor will
not touch it even when the visor is pulled down. Insects and raindrops will
be slightly out of focus and the wipers covers this area too.

Another feature I wanted was quick removal without having to disconnect
the power connector. For safety reasons the force needed should be small
(in case of an accident or visits by the shirrif).

I ended up with a small triangular block that is fixed to the windscreen
with doulble-sided adhesive tape. A strong magnet in a recess in the block
holds a 2 mm steel plate fixed to the thread on the DVR. The steel plate
fits in a rectangular guide-hole, the only possible movement is downwards
if you pull hard enough. Six contact springs (3 each for +5 V and Gnd)
land on a small PCB that is connected to the DVR via a round DC-connector.
(connector dimensions 1,3 x 3,4 x 9 mm in case you want to buy one)

The dimensions are 22 x 32 mm and the block is made of oak without any
other reason than that was what I first found. The total height is the
stacking height of the components and there is no easy way to reduce it
further.
