Fun in Thailand

A peek into the high tech assembly facility for motor tricycles made from (mostly) chinese parts.
The kid driving installed a few replacement parts, and cross threaded my oil drain plug, changing the oil. Was dripping when I got home, 40 KM away. A local mechanic cleaned the threads up, and put a new drain plug in.

There is some form of foot race in town, and these local 'taxis' are involved....somehow.
A convoy of samlors/tuk tuks/skylabs, with flags, and banners, for the race, with police escort and traffic control.

Haha good timing the movie Convoy is airing right now in the DR2 channel here

Shades of Cletus Maggard and "The Citizen's Band"

Christmas of 1975 it seemed that every "Dad" in the USA got a CB radio for a gift and was transmitting on Ch 19 all at once. Never heard such a mess in my life...

hehe i bet.
As i kid the whole family often gathered around my handheld CB radio, or maybe the adults just pretended.
Anyway good times, also you did not have to walk 2 - 3 blocks over to talk to a friend now you could just hit him up on the radio.
C - 19 was always the trucker channel here, so us ordinary people left that alone, or just listened to it.

I was waved over at a police checkpoint. Never happened before in the almost 3 years i have driven the trike in the region.
He asks if I have license, never asks to see it.

I kept left approaching the checkpoint, often motorbikes or trikes have different lane or get waved around the checkpoints because they are only screening for car related stuff.

I just see: This video is private

youtube shifted stuff around, took me a while to catch up.

;)

Finally replaced the anemic battery on the trike. 50 AH car battery, maintenance free, cheaper than the OEM one. $50/

A119V3 on the trike died. Put the b1w back on until I get a chance to fiddle with it, or come up with another game plan.

If you manage to survive the aggressive early morning dogs, sometimes you are rewarded with sunrises like this on the Mekong.

I am usually selective about the streets i take, but, being thailand, you are still screwed.
Biggest problem areas are the main thoroughfares during peak traffic hours. Very minor congestion, but you always have idiots who will force their way through.

For sure when you are the "weak" unarmed / unprotected, you will want to be extremely aware of your situation.
And then just pray the odd ball do not find you, CUZ those you cant calculate or foresee when they stick their ugly head out.

I gave a ride to 3 monks from Laos to a Buddhist university in the south part of my province. They are applying to attend there.
One monk is the son of a friend of mine. Nice kids.

This is a blueskysea dv688.
