G1W Power Draw

Hi all,

I'm awaiting delivery of my G1W and have been looking into wiring it into my overhead lights permanently (the easiest option seeing I have air bags in the A pillars). I know I need to run a 12V to 5V converter, so I pulled apart my overhead console to see whether there is space for one and to see whether I could find switched power. I'm shocked at how thin the wiring is, which got me wondering just how much power the G1W will draw. I know it will depend on whether the screen is on or not, and whether the battery is charging, so I'm really interested in worst case scenario in case it is too much for the wiring. Anyone know?

Will need around 1amp

Yeah I would make sure that whatever adapter you choose to use that it is capable of at least 1A.

It's not the adapter I'm worried about; it's whether those skinny wires for the overhead lighting can supply enough current without overloading.

Skinny wires will be up to the task if they are original to the vehicle
