Night videos are dark but they have details.
the correct answer
audio defect
not necessarily; the mic is quite sensitive. The voice is recorded really good. There are some EMI, whose level increase when using the standard power source.

Examples of a good sensitive mic ( Zoom Q2HD )...

Hilts' G90-7s w/ firmware r439M sounded pretty good to me ( see https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...set-gps-vs-mini-0803-a7la50-chipset-gps.7186/ ).

My G90-A7la30 originally came with firmware v428 which was updated to v441 (the one used in the video below). Some audio distortions can be heard but better than v712 . Try a different firmware ( make sure the G90 is plugged in to a live power source before changing firmware)?

With firmware v818, the lower frequency volume is significantly reduced ( or simply filtered). And the cracking audio noise is much worse than v441 for my camera.

there's no exposure setting for the unit.
i really need this option, since in my country we usually apply dark windows film to prevent unwanted thing like sunshine or thief.
when night come, the video footage is useless, because my dark windows film.
when day, the video is crystal clear.

i really hope there is an update for exposure or brightness setting. (g1w have this feature)

Yes, that's the problem.
I emailed user from Dome here about exposure settings but no response yet.
It'll be very useful to add that option in a firmware.
Manual mentions it but menu doesn't have it.

I've got reply from shenzen dome like this:

Hi,

Many dash cams no exposure setting including G90C. I can give you the G90C firmware date:20150209,but i don't think the firmware has exposure setting or bring more bright. I will feedback the problem about G90C,hoping our developers can improve the G90c.

And I just hope that they are truly listening to our suggestions.

For everyone in this forum. Please ask for the exposure setting to them. Email it to
domekaka2010@gmail.com

Hope they will update it for us. Thanks

as long as the contrast doesn't change automatically during day/night, I can't see the usefulness of this setting.
You'll have to change it manually in the dashcam. So, it even worse. For more video details you can activate HDR for day and night. Then you can change the contrast in most of video players.

You don't get it. The brightness or exposure setting did help a lot. G90 didn't auto fix the brightness balance when we drive in dark places. Hdr mode didn't help much.

I've used g1w and the brightness option did help a lot. Just because you didn't use that setting, It didn't make the setting itself useless.

did you use it manually, or it has the capacity to change it automatically ? You can make a simple test: use the G1W without and without exposure compensation. Then, on your computer see if you can modify the contrast of your videos to have the same result.
