After a long wait, the 'all black' 680W arrived from Foxoffer. Everything said about it appears to be correct - the battery lasts only a couple minutes (long enough to make a menu change.) The video quality is very good - the best I've seen from a dash cam. In fact, I'm putting it in my daily driver in place of the Lukas 7500 as I was unlucky in the 'focus lottery' of Lukas and cannot read plates or signs at all. I got the GPS and the screen saver showing speed and a nice compass works very well. Oh, firmware is ver. 2.7. Have been playing with the motion detect, and it may prove to be quite usable as a 'poor mans' parking mode although the G sensor won't trigger recording. It records only 10 seconds upon motion detect, enough to see what went on but not so much it'll eat up the memory.
Really a very good little cam, we'll see how it does in the desert heat in a month or 3. Regardless, the video quality is excellent.
