I purchased this dashcam a while back and he keeps complaining that the date is always wrong even after I reset it. He also unplugs the power after he shuts off his car. Do you guys think this is the issue or should update the firmware?

On the page it says GS8000 but I've heard there are "L" versions and what-not. How do I tell?
The current firmware version is R&H-201508.V09.
