I have a Mini 803 and Mini 805. Both died within a week of each other, with the 803 being several years older. They collectively managed to survive about 3 summers in hot Southern California (120F+). The battery performance was never very good.

I am looking for a dash cam that is truly hard wired to the vehicle, like a stereo is (I am unsure why more dash cams are not set up this way). It should have a battery + connection, an ignition connection, and a ground.

I'd like to spend less than $150. I have only come across a couple of cameras with this setup and they did not review very well or were very expensive.

I see this as a close match. https://www.amazon.com/gp/B01LX7ULS2
I might bump my budget to $200 if there is a good product worthy of my money.

Can you offer any help? Thank you!

As a thank you, I offer you two videos shot with my 803, both are me in my vehicle:

I wired my 0806 with this kit -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/B00S73FE8A+ an add a fuse, fuse tap off an ignition triggered source.

Works just like the stereo, on when car is on, on when car is in accessory, on when car is in delayed off (key off and out, but stereo on until the doors are opened).

works for me.

I bet your 0803 and 0805 are still fine, you just need to replace the battery pack in them. My 0806 went into an annoying rebooting loop when the internal battery pack failed, replaced it and was good as new. Just a thought!
