HDR: Should I turn it ON, or keep it OFF?

There is a stamp for PlatePix but no stamp for HDR.

I feel like I need to completely review the PP/HDR timer and Image Quality interaction again.

I've been having this same thought for the E360 and E1 cameras as a whole. These were the first two reviews that I wrote up, so I had the least amount of experience when I did so. Having lived with each camera for a longer period of time and experiencing other cameras, I feel that I didn't fully appreciate/express how ground breaking each camera really is.

THAT would be a GREAT option! All of the necessary data is there is contained in the GPS data: time zone, date, and latitude. The rest is just a look up table with a fudge factor for latitude.

In theory, sunrise and sunset times can indeed be calculated directly from GPS data (latitude, longitude, date, and timezone), so we’ll evaluate whether this is something we can implement in a future firmware update.

Temporary installed my E1 Pro yesterday using the cigarette lighter power adapter, I'll get the hardwire kit installed later.

Camera is set up.

Starting with the HDR on all the time.
PlatePix on all the time.

Daft question but how did you get your stuff to stick on the grey dots, I though it was best not to stick anything there?

On this vehicle (2022 Honda Ridgeline) the "dots" are actually inside of the laminated windshield and not on the inner surface of the windshield. So the flat glass is what I stuck the mount to, with the dots a layer deeper under the exposed glass surface.

Correct. Both enabled at all times seems to result in the best image for me.

You can increase exposure to +1.3 to compensate for PlatePix darkening.

@AgentSmith007 I can't say without testing, but I would surmise that brightening the exposure may affect plate capture. Can anyone comment?

Sure does make the image darker (a negative) but it makes the plate more likely to be captured (larger positive in my book). Nice link to comparison images - I haven't seen that thread before!
