Help with Registratorviewer please.

Yes I do have Moviemaker but when I come to run the file, although you can see it, it does look as though it's running under water, not very good really.
You have to set output file to 1080p or at least 720p quality.

I'm also frustrated with Registrator Viewer (RV) and over the USA holiday weekend I spent time stepping through permutations trying to understand why RV is unwilling to fast-forward or save certain file groups from my X2 running 1.02.05 firmware.

I recorded an hour of parking mode video and was trying to view/save the front cam content at greater than normal speed (x4, x16, x64). There were many video files and many partial files (less than my two minute file size setting) because of motion detection. RV would load and group the files OK, but would only let me view them at normal x1 speed no matter what RV settings I tweaked (renderer, etc). Attempts to save the group into a single video file always failed with a "Different format" error. But these files were all from the front cam, so none of the video attributes should have been "different".

So then I stepped through trying to group smaller subsets of content. Sometimes view/save at greater than normal speed would work, sometimes not, depending on which files were grouped. Eventually I was able to isolate two files, both partials (less than the full two minutes) due to motion detection, that would both play at greater than normal speed as a single file, but would fail to play fast as a group of two files. And when grouped as two files, the save would fail with the "Different format" error.

Therefore I theorize that either RV is flaky or something strange is going on with the content of the video files as written by the X2. I know nothing about the internals of video encoding so I'm unable to troubleshoot or speculate in more detail.

If anybody would like to examine these two failing video files, let me know and I can make them available for download.

Hi Sunny, I don't appear to have any options to change the 'output' in Moviemaker. My recordings have been made at 1080p front and rear anyway.

What I have done is set the Anti Shake and Wobble option to 'High' but even that doesn't make any difference.

It's normally recommended to copy the files off the card to the local hard drive before attempting x2, x4, x8 speed-up playback. It's a known problem for speed-up to not work reading off the cards most of the time from any product. (not just X2) You can try to make sure you have a SDXC USB 3.0 card reader if you want to try direct further. What happens when you try http://dashcamviewer.com ?

Share some files via http://mega.co.nz (and I'll give it a shot)

Of course you do. ;)
BTW, don't use anti shake/wobble thingy for dashcam videos. It makes it even more dizzy looking.

For movie maker settings, you can either use the 1080p option or create custom with bitrate that matches the video you are processing like this:

Yes, I was trying to run RV against X2 files copied to my SSD hard drive.

The latest & greatest July 4th version of Dashcam Viewer does not display the playback rate control for me that's depicted in the screen shots. I'm running Windows 7.

You can download my sample video files here (I didn't want to create Yet Another Web Login to use Mega):

Thank you Sunny, I've cracked that bit and I now have a very clear and stable image. Can I link the files within MovieMaker so that they will play as one file?

Thanks again for being so patient, it's very much appreciated.

Yes, just drag and drop one after another.

Doesn't work for me either, seems like a bug in RegistratorViewer since speedup works fine in VLC player.
(and I'm told DashCamViewer for Mac worked in the past)

Please send a support message to

(remember he offers this app for free though, I've sent him donations in the past)

I was able to group those two files and save as one MP4 no problem.

I recently upgraded my anti-virus from free AVG to free Panda. When I clicked on the Registrator program, it quarantined it! I went back in to Panda and restored it. It was labeled as a suspicious file.

Now that I got the program opened, all I get is a black window when I try and open a video.
