Hey all, new to the forum (though I've been lurking for a few weeks). I'm a poor schmuck stuck in northeast WHYoming (WHY-oming because, well, WHY?), who's had a few close scrapes, but luckily no accidents since the early 2000s. Came close a few times, though, especially this year with my fiancΓ©e and my yearly trip to Baltimore, MD (with a stop in MN to visit some RL friends).

Been considering a dash cam for protection against fraud and the like, and after some damn close near misses on our road trip this year (including at lest three apparent insurance fraud attempts), I bit the bullet and decided to start some heavy research. I've been lurking here for a couple weeks, and decided to join up a couple days ago, and now I'm posting. πŸ˜€

Damn, that was a pretty cheesy intro, wasn't it? Or maybe I've lived in Wyoming a bit too long? πŸ˜• Ah, well, c'est la vie, as they say. Anyway, hope to contribute to the forum, at least with some of my apparently charming brand of insanity. 😎

Welcome to forum !

Welcome kgs

The north western corner of WHYomin dont look too bad to me, but it might be a little mondane to one of the locals.

That corner at least is on my to visit list of i ever get across the pond again.

You haven't bit the bullet yet.
We'll help you bite one or several. πŸ˜€

They drive in Whyoming?
I only hear about grizzly and wolves. πŸ˜‰

???? isent that 1 state further up ?
I have been lead to undestand that riding wolves and grizzlys is the preferred mode of transportation in "big sky country"
Maybe thats why i as a fallen viking have such sympaties for that state πŸ˜‰

Lol, ironically I was born up in Montana... πŸ™‚ Hell, I used to love driving in Montana when it had the "Montanabahn" (reasonable and prudent speeds) and was quite disappointed when they lowered it back down to 75 MPH (120 KPH for you metric fans). Ah, well, that's all in the past.

As for the Yellowstone area, yeah, it is beautiful. And WY is a great state to visit, but living here? After the first few years, unless you have lots of money or can squeeze into one of the social cliques, it's far from pleasant. As I've said to others, there's only a few things I love about WY: the friends and family I have, the mountains tend to be lovely, and the sunsets and sunrises are absolutely gorgeous. The latter is subjective, granted, but I've been from one coast to the other, and through all but the southwestern states, and it still holds true for me. Helps that WY is the congruence of three different prevailing winds, but all the dust that kicks up makes it hell to keep vehicles interiors clean... πŸ™

And, yeah, they 'drive' here in Wyoming. In Gillette (where I live), the driving style is this odd combination of Denver, Colorado and Chicago, Illinois driving styles. It's... Well, let's just say there's a lot of stupid that happens here, considering our relatively small population... πŸ˜•

My fiancΓ©e and I are actually hopin' to move to southern MN (the Mankato area), hopefully within the next year. Love the area, and so, so, so much less dust. And the generally higher humidity calms my overactive hay feaver down quite a bit.
