Hi from the Netherlands

Hi, my name is Pedro and I signed in because I'm planning to buy a dashcam (just for fun).
But.... which one?

I have narrowed the choices down to 2 different brands/models
- DOD LS460W or
- Mini 0806

The mini 0806 because of it size and therefore not attracting too much attention from people with less honest intentions. The DOD LS460w for it's great picture quality and reliability (as I'm told!).
Why I'm not choosing the 0806 at the moment is the (also told) fact that there are still issues with the reliability and build quality.

Is this really the fact or only hearsay ?

(Sorry if my English is a bit awkward from time to time, English is not my native tongue)

Hi PedroN.
I think there is still some issues with both dashcams, but my memory is too abused to point out any special issues.
I have been betatesting the 0806 myself and i have been pretty okay with it, only personal problem i have it is that it is a battery dashcam, and my cameras is in the car all year around.
but you will get wiser yourself if you read in the dod and mini 0806 subforums.

Hello PedroN and welcome to forum.

Mini 0806 would be also my choice. I have the 1st batch, but as for you, I would recommend to wait for 3rd batch, because 0806 is still undergoing some fine tune-up, but after all minor issues be sorted , I do believe you like this dashcam.

Not sure is there any reliable re-seller of 0806 in your country, at least they are not heard of on this forum, but you can relay on UK supplier Joovuu ( look at vendors section ).
UK = EU = Netherlands, - almost same when comes to buying, delivering and aftersale service locally within EU.

A little follow-up:
I ordered a Mini 0806 and it arrived today, tomorrow I will place it in the car.
First impression: a nice little camera, even a bit smaller then I expected. I updated the firmware from 150116 to 150128 without problems.

I expected to get the cpl filter within the package but that's an option (too bad as all pictures shows also the cpl filter with the camera). I ordered a cpl at foxoffer1 (I could find it on any other place for an acceptable price)

Also the 4 little screws for the wedges are missing, lets hope I don't need them tomorrow.

I also ordered a separate USB cable with USB A to Micro USB b because I want to use a dual port USB car charger.

I think it would be welcomed by many people (although the cost price would raise a bit)

I hope to install the camera tomorrow with the cable attached temporary so I can test it a bit next weekend (have to drive about 400 km on Saturday).

big cost difference for this which is why you don't see it very often

My TomTom for instance came with cable + separate charger.

If you saw the decisions that get made for the sake of saving a few cents you'd better understand why something like this doesn't happen even though the relative upcost isn't that great

By coincidence I stumbled over a website which is delivering the configuration I wished. This version is a German version, I don't know if there are internal differences. Too bad I didn't find it before I made my order

I wonder if iTracker co-operates with famous Datakam ?, I can see Datakam logo on cigarette lighter with dual usb ports.

160 Eur is not a bad price for local re-seller, local stock- warranty and aftersales.
