How do I manually record an event?

Hi All,

I’ve just had this front and rear dash cam fitted. The manual and settings show manual recording is available, but they don’t explain how to activate it.

Have I missed something simple?

Most cameras have a manual event button it you can press.

Other BlackVue cameras have a proximity sensor on the end opposite from the cable connection end of the camera. For those cameras with a proximity sensor, you can configure the proximity sensor to do nothing (off), turn audio recording on/off or initiate a manual recording event.

I've looked at the DR590X user manual and the BlackVue website info for that camera and I don't see any mention of a proximity sensor nor do I see a button on the camera that will initiate a manual recording. The parts of the user manual that mention manual recordings appear to be product agnostic text that may have been carried over from the other cameras that do have a manual recording event capability.
