Issue with install

Hello everyone. I endeavored to add a reverse camera to my 2017 Nissan NV 200 work van, so I purchased a kit from Amazon that put the cam where it would be if it were factory installed, snaked the leads through the back door through the proper conduit into van, where I tapped into the reverse light.Fished the cable through the interior to the dash where it meets a Pioneer DMH 1500 NEX. I did not do the install of the head unit, that was done by the previous owner. For the price of the kit, it has an excellent high res image, but I can’t figure out where the trigger wire should go. Currently, when the vehicle is on, and the head unit is set to camera, it will display that menu and when I shift to reverse, it triggers the display to show the cam, when I shift to drive, it returns to the menu, but none of this operates with any of the other functions of the head unit. Would anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance.

This is a common problem, and usually you need a harness or adapter, or know how to rewire. I looked into an infotainment system for my car and then decided not to proceed, but I did see that this is a huge issue for many people. Go to YouTube and do a search; there are a ton of how-to videos on this very problem you have.
