I am sick and tired of going through the procedure of waiting for an emailed code, entering the code before I can actually logon.

Yes, I select the box to disable the function for 30 days, makes no difference.

Why is this type of security needed to discuss dashcams?

Is it a temporary measure for some unknown reason? OR, is it permanent?

Just in case it's a permanent thing, how does one delete their account?

I dont have a issue like that, i just did a clean install of my PC, and then of course also had to enter my PW again when i logged into the forum, but i have that PW written dow and did not ask for it via a mail.
O and then i tell my firefox browser to remember that password for me, so it have now been a month or so since i entered that PW

This is the email I get.

netnode,
To complete the login to your account (or to complete two-step verification setup) at DashCamTalk, you must enter the following code:
310599
This code is valid for 15 minutes.
The login was requested via the IP 61.2XX.152.XX. If you did not initiate this request, you should change your password urgently.

I only two step out of a room when on rare occasions i am wrong  done backwards i think that's what is called the white mans moonwalk.
