Is it the super-cap making problems, I mean if you buy a battery version and replace the battery with a super-cap, the problems arise?

Physically, you can unplug the battery and replace with a Maxi capacitor. However I don't think the charging circuit was designed for that purpose - it doesn't fast-charge the capacitor.

As Dashmellow said, the capacitor version of the MM4K has capacitors hard-wired to the circuit board. I had power-related problems with my test cameras which caused them to stop working. No-one else has reported such problems, as far as I know.
