Display model on video

Doesn't the Viofo app allow users to select the information displayed on the video?
Yep you are correct but this is not about a single brand but in general.
I'm suggesting we as the customer has the option to enable or disable the information on the screen and in this case I am highlighting the Model name.
If I said a general question like 'do you want to be able to enable or disable the data on the screen' it is to broad.

Thanks for the input though.

I created this video for comparison and realised that I can’t tell the difference between the models just by watching the footage.

One of the units uses a Chinese-made sensor, while the other two are supposed to have Sony IMX678 sensors.

Can you identify which 70mai dashcam models are shown in this video?

I’ve installed three different 70mai models — one that hasn’t been released yet (with 4G capability), and two others that have been available for some time.

This isn’t a trick — I genuinely used three different 70mai cameras.

T800
A810S
A800SE-4G

I look forward to your suggestions. Thanks.

I love a Pepsi Challenge.
I’ve never tested a 70mai dash cam so maybe I’m perfect for this exercise.
My guess is Camera #2 does not have (IMX678).
Camera #1 & #3 look like they’re using (IMX678).
Did I win? lol

You made the test harder by using a soft fade out between clips.
Also the last 5 seconds of camera #3 is obscured by your end screens.
If you make more of the Pepsi Challenge videos in the future can you use hard cuts in between clips so it’s obvious we’re looking at a different camera.
Also add chapters to the YouTube video to label the different cameras.
I downloaded your video, and edited it with these changes.

YouTube let’s you put chapters every 10 seconds.
So if you want to add chapters you want the clips to be at least 11 seconds each.
And the last clip it needs to be 5 seconds longer that all previous clips so your end screens don’t interfere.

When I was a kid in the 80’s I remember taking the real Pepsi Challenge at my local shopping mall.
I chose Pepsi because it tasted “smoother”, and Coke tasted “harsher”.
Who else took the Pepsi Challenge in real life?

Look how skinny everyone was in the 80’s.
There were no fat people. Lol

My image used to be a small circle of my cat. So it never was a rectangle block. I'll have to check that.

I put that image in top right so you can still see the road!

Funny you should suggest hard cuts. I had that and thought it was too abrupt so i spent ages working out what the best merge fade would be?

Chapters, i haven't got my head around. I made chapters manually in one long video and dropped the idea.

While I'm not going to say which yet, was there something that stood out to you?

Later tonight I'll be playing it on my tv to see if that helps see a difference. (4K TV) My computer screens are 4K screens.

Thanks for taking part.

would you like a cut lunch with that? lol

I don't know if you where taking the P... out of me, but I made it as you requested well almost I can't erase stuff in a video but can blur it.

No, I was being serious.
I discovered this problem in my own night time test footage.
The digital clock from my radio would be projected onto the windshield.
It’s so distracting I cover the whole radio with a piece of cardboard when I gather night time footage, (see attached photos).

What you did with the blur just made it worse. lol
I’ll wait for the next time you gather test footage to take your Pepsi Challenge.

Here’s what mine looked like.

OK I get it and while it is real world testing covering reflections might be preventing identifying other possible problems from the unit.
I prefer to drive with all cabin lights out or down at night too especially on long dark road drives.

While it won't like this one I made a side by side and gave up on trying to blur the reflections.

So picking the model on the 70mai units is surprising to me at least in night video.

Here is a side by side comparison of the same video as above.

I may start a new thread as it is going off topic and it may be useful for all types of dashcams.
Not sure yet.

Oh and one last thing. In about a month the same video above will be published that identifies the models.
You'll have to check my channel lol.

A800SE and A810 Lite are the two new models lol
