Mounting SG9665GC's GPS unit on Windshield

I know that you can mount the GPS unit on the windshield by flipping the antenna, or by mounting the side with the GPS logo against the windshield. But either way, the adhesive pad is between the glass and the antenna. Does anyone here know whether that adhesive pad will reduce the strength of the GPS signal picked up by the antenna?

RF passes right through it, won't effect signal strength.
