Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum because I couldn't find the issue with my dashcam, hoping any of u can help me.

My dashcam has been working for more than 6 months when suddenly it didn't turn on anymore at startup of the car.
The red ACC connection was fine and reading 12v (for parking video), the ground was in good shape and the yellow cable reads 12v when the car is turned on (it was connected to the fuse of my headlights).
I've checked the fuses, used another switches live but nothing helps. Also tried the boot delay of 10sec.

The transfer box has a red light (so it does get power) but the power doesn't go to the dashcam. At startup it shows a red light for a short time and goes off.
When I reattach the powercable (USB-C) to the dashcam it turn on, and stays on..

Try plugging in the dashcam directly to a power source that can deliver about 1.5Amps or use the original cigarette lighter and bypass everything and just plug the Viofo A119 mini into it.
That will help eliminate other causes.

Thanks for the tip!
I've tried connecting it to the cigarette lighter, this works fine.

Welcome to the club @Antalxx
If we can’t get this figured out quick as a flash you may need to SUBMIT A TICKET for official support direct from Viofo.
The #1 & #2 cause of all dash cam malfunctions are;
1.) "incompatible" power supply
2.) "incompatible” SD Card.

Can you please check for proper operation with the;
1.) VIOFO Brand USB Type-C to Type-A Power Cable
2.) VIOFO Brand CLA Car Charger
These two items were included with your camera inside the box.
When you plug in the camera try long pressing the RESET button on the side of the camera for at least 5 seconds.
You’ll need a small pin, or similar.
If you can get the camera to boot up, and start recording perform a factory reset / default setting.
Then go to the OFFICIAL VIOFO WEBSITE, and update the firmware with the current version, (V2.1_20250409).
EVEN IF THE SAME VERSION IS ALREADY IN THE CAMERA.
Sometimes that works.

What SD Card are you using?
If you answer anything other than VIOFO Brand SD Card “people” are going to suspect the SD Card.
If you are using a VIOFO Brand SD Card, it’s possible it’s worn out in 6 Months.

@DashCamMan can you please move this post to the suitable section?
VIOFO A119 Mini 2

Thanks for the tip!
I've tried connecting it to the cigarette lighter, this works fine.

So the camera is working properly? Yes?

Therefore it is Hardwire kit related I'm thinking. Wires, HWK unit, Fuses, etc

I noticed that the fuse photo shows the fuse adapters pointing in different directions which is fine providing the common V+ is in the centre of the two adapters.

The transfer box has a red light (so it does get power) but the power doesn't go to the dashcam.

Another thought.
What is the state of your car battery e.g. what voltage do you get when using a digital multimeter connected to the battery ( or inside on the cigarette lighter port - just be careful as you can easily blow a fuse doing it this way if you have woobly fingers like me.
Check what the settings on the HWK is set to.
Could the voltage switch have been moved to a higher cut off voltage?

I've tried connecting it to the cigarette lighter, this works fine.
If you end up needing a new Hardwire Cable skip the HK4, and get the new HK6.

Mini 2 is not listed for HK6

Correct, but it will still work. Any Viofo camera that supports the HK4 will also work with the HK6(vice versa).

The main difference is that the HK6 can transmit vehicle/power-source voltage information via Bluetooth. This voltage information is primarily used for the parking mode voltage cutoff.

I'm guessing Chuck recommended going with the HK6 for future-proofing. If OP ever uses a camera capable of hybrid parking mode, the HK6 will come in handy.
