I am new to dashcams and purchased an N2 Pro directly from Vantrue. My research led me to believe that this would be a good starting camera.
I have had this camera for more than 6 months.
So far, this has been a MAJOR disappointment. This product does NOT function as it should. The 256gb SD card fills up with video of my garage wall, and there are a few "events" which are short, 3 minute recordings of me driving. AT NO TIME has it recorded a continuous loop of me driving, and I have taken several 1+ hour long trips.
I have gone through the setup more than 4 times. I know the settings are correct. The camera is plugged directly in to power in my vehicle. I have watched several videos that say that you don't have to turn the camera on when starting to drive. Parking mode is OFF. Loop recording is ON.
I don't know what to do except search for a different brand of dashcam. I can't say that I would recommend this product to anyone. It is TERRIBLE.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this camera useable, please enlighten me. If there is a dashcam brand that actually works, please recommend it!

Sorry to hear you’re having such a frustrating experience with the N2 Pro.
Just to help narrow things down, could you please let me know:
What brand and model of SD card are you using?
What firmware version is currently installed on your camera?
Have you tried formatting the SD card in the camera recently?
Happy to help troubleshoot further once we have a bit more info!

The SD card is Sandisk 256gb High Endurance.
The firmware version is up to date - VTN2Pro2K.V51
Yes, I have formatted the card, most recently 4 days ago.

At this point I'm lookin at the VIOFO A229 Pro 4K as a replacement. Any experience with that?

Thank you so much!

Thank you for the info! VTN2Pro2K.V51 is the latest firmware for the N2 Pro.
Please don’t worry. All Vantrue products come with an 18-month warranty. You’re welcome to send your order number and a brief description of the issue to our support team at support@vantrue.net, and we’ll help you out as soon as possible.

That is good to know! I sent an inquiry to support@vantrue.net on 7/13/25, but haven't heard back yet.

Sandisk High Endurance doesn't appear to play nice with Vantrue Products. I ran into issues with them.

1. Make sure Camera is set to Loop Record (I like 3 MInutes).
2. Purchase a Vantrue Branded SD Card

On my Sandisk High Endurance test, I found videos failed to record, skipped, etc. I don't believe your camera is faulty. Before sending for warranty replacement, ask Vantrue to mail you out a Vantrue SD Card

could you please check your spam folder, if you still can't find it. just feel free to send me your email via direct message, I will check it with our support team.

Please mail him out an Vantrue Brand SD Card. My cameras had issues with skipping video when using Sandisk High Endurance Cards. It may be worth having him try a Vantrue Brand SD card before warrantying the Camera. I suspect it is SD card fault.
