Need Assistance: How to Remove / Clean 3M Adhesive

I can't make my mind up on these myself...

I have tint film on my rear window and need to mount a new install – I'm reasonably happy/convinced to mount direct onto the film as it's well bonded and was done by the official dealer when the car was supplied new...However, my main area of concern is come the time of any future Removal....Will the tint film be damaged etc etc...

The Static Stickers make some sense in this scenario...though I wasn't sure just how well they would make their bond to the film...? I'm also not mad on the visual 'edges' of static stickers showing...Perhaps cutting them down and reducing size may help a little...Also not sure how much the tint will disguise the presence of the clear sticker or, on the other hand, highlight it...?!

So are static stickers from dashcam makers safe? I don't know but I can say whatever properties were on the static sticker from my dealer certainly WAS NOT.

@mentadent Dealer just paid to have windshield tint redone, but I had to remove all cameras, and was not convenient at all. Anyway, this is a cautionary tale, because I'm not sure if the dashcam static stickers can do the same thing long term or not. So as they say, "Use with Caution".

That's pretty bad – what a PIA....Good to hear it is getting sorted for you.

As you say, whether it's the same 'type' of static sticker that the dashcam manufacturers supply, hard to know....I guess also there's numerous types and manufacturers of tint film, I don't know much about it...

Nothing but the Oil Change static stickers were ever placed in that spot. You can see the shape of the tint removed exactly matched the static sticker. Therefore, it's possible for the tint to get damaged, but that doesn't mean it will. Maybe those plastic static stickers from the dealer use a different compound of plastic? Or maybe they don't?

Just something to consider.
