Need Help: Flashing 70mai Omni 4K (Chinese Version) to Global Firmware - Is It Possible?

Hi everyone,


I recently bought a 70mai Omni 4K (Chinese version) and I’m trying to find out if it’s possible to flash the global/WW firmware onto this model.


So far I’ve seen mixed information. Some users say that newer 70mai devices are region-locked and won’t accept global firmware, while others mention older models where cross-flashing was possible. I haven’t found anything specifically confirmed for the Omni 4K.


Before I take any risky steps, I want to know:


  • Has anyone successfully flashed global firmware on a Chinese Omni 4K?
  • Does the device check region ID and block the firmware (“Firmware mismatch”)?
  • Is there any method, modified firmware, or safe procedure to do this?
  • If it’s not possible, is there at least a way to get English UI/voice on the Chinese firmware?

I would really appreciate any real experiences, guides, or warnings from people who have tested this model.

No, it's not possible to flash global firmware to Chinese dashcam.

I also bought Chinese version and I have a problem how to connect it to the app. I even can’t see WiFi in my settings on phone or even Bluetooth. Any suggestions what can be issue? It was brand new packed and I bought it personally when I was in China last week
 
Funny, I installed 1 of these units yesterday. Customer bought it from Hong Kong and paired to it and flashed new firmware. Maybe it was Hong Kong region selected firmware??

That's a pain. Only 70mai China app connects to China local dashcam versions. The app can be downloaded from 70mai China website. But more than that, you need to register a new user account, which requires having a China phone number. The app has limited English interface, but the dashcam itself is stuck with Chinese only. It is not compatible to the international version of 4G kit.

Officially 70mai dashcams sold in Hong Kong are international versions, while cheaper China local versions are available in the gray market.
