Hi all,

After a loooooong while of using a Street Guardian SGGCX2PRO, I decided to change my car and sold the old one with the dashcam on it, so I am in the market for a new one.

I understand things have changed significantly since I bought the Street Guardian several years ago, and now there are so many options that I am confused as to what is what.

What I am looking for:
  1. 2k minimum on the front camera, whatever (1080p and up) on the back camera
  2. Must be able to read license plates
  3. microSD recording (no SSD required)
  4. Capacitor
  5. Highest reliability possible (the Street Guardian SGGCX2PRO has been working consistently, with no issues at all, no lost files, no restarts, no lost footage, no overheating)
  6. Must be able to be hardwired (I think all can)
  7. Resistance to high temperatures. I am not in a very hot country (south UK), but we do get the occasional 35 degrees C (95F) in some summer days
  8. Ideally the GPS should be inside the camera itself, instead of an external unit like it was in the Street Guardian SGGCX2PRO
Not interested at all in parking mode, in fact if it doesn't have it at all it will be better (as I assume the price will reflect this)
Ideally, I would prefer something that won't require me to get a loan to buy it...

With a quick search, I found the VIOFO A229 Plus, but I'm not sure this is the best choice.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Just realised I posted this in the wrong section, admins please feel free to move as required, apologies
