I highly recommend installing a Viofo CPL-300 on Rear Camera. It makes a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE on clarity, as Vantrue has no official CPL for rear camera.

Fiat cuts in front of me and Hyundai returns the favor

Not sure what to make of this one.....

I was traveling on the Belt when Waze warned me of police ahead.

fter passing him, I noticed a black Mercedes flying up behind me and trying to make his way through traffic in a panic.

oon after he passes me, the came cop sneaks up from behind (lights off) and quickly pulls over the Benz.

As I pass by, the officer is walking up to the driver who looks like Coolio and is yelling on his phone (obviously pissed he got pulled over).

A few minutes later, I see him making his way through traffic and barreling over the shoulder as if he was being chased, but didn't see anyone chasing him. I just thought it was odd, so I saved the footage just in case.

Well, he's gotta make up for some lost time now 😉

Got pulled over last night.

Not sure what for, but no big deal

Sounds like they mistook you for someone else? Thought you were former police...?

Possibly
I have a PAL plate and my windshield has more electronics than his cruiser, so he probably thought I was on the job or sumthin.

What is a "PAL" plate? Agreed. I bet he saw all your dashcams and assumed you were law enforcement of some sort (as evidenced by his line of questioning).

Police Athletic League

Looks like this:

Does that mean you donated to the Police (PAL) to get that license plate? Or you have an affiliation with the PAL organization?

There are over a hundred plate styles to choose from.

Each one has an organization that gets a kickback from the registration fees (PAL, Sheriff's office, LEO, University's, Firefighters, SPCA, Military branches, etc., etc.)

Choose any you wish to support (I have a lot of family on the job).

Some plate styles don't have any affiliation with any cause (like my united plates)

Fun to do on purpose, a bit less fun when there is oncoming traffic. This is why I took my daughter (brand new driver) out to an empty parking lot the last time it snowed. The first goal was to have fun making donuts to learn how the car will behave in snow. The second goal was to learn how to control the car so it behaves like you want it to in the snow.

Far too many people think 4WD makes them impervious to bad weather...
