no idea which codec you need, not including the codecs is not uncommon, you can download a codec pack like K-Lite and it should give you what you need

You can either install packages like k-lite or find codec first to install a particular codec.

Thanks for the help. K-Lite doesn't have the necessary codec. However, I found out from the working PAPAGO! player on my XP machine what's missing. It's ffdshow. After installing it on my Win7 laptop, it works like a charm.

I have a Papago P3 and the display is not in black and white, and the screen prompt instructions are in Chinese. When I turn the unit off, for a moment, the screen returns to color.
Any ideas how to get me unit working properly again. I have downloaded firmware updates, but the unit will not update them.
