Nextbase 522GW - Latest Firmware update R33.2.Zip - Beware !

I downloaded and installed this firmware update and could not believe what this version takes away from the user control.

No. 1. Only allows 1 minute file recording. (No option for 2 or 3 minutes)

No.2. No option to turn off Dual files. (produces 5 files every minute of recording !)

No. 3. No option for screen dimming. To name a few..

I was so alarmed but ( Luckily I had saved version R30.9 ) and could not wait to get this back in.

Can you imagine 5 files every minute ....on a 3 hour journey thats 900 files ! sd card size permitting.

Unbelievable....... If your willing to try this update make sure you have saved the previous R30.9 as I could not find any firmware other than the present one.

Noticed a loss of these options when I updated my 622GW to the latest firmware. The 1 minute file recording I think is sufficient for most people I think. When my old 522GW was working when I first got it, I had it set to 3 minute increments. I was finding it was a bit of a pain to try and find an event throughout a 3 minute clip, and switching it to 1 minute made it easier, IMO. But the removal of the ability to turn off dual files is a bit big as you pointed out it really eats into the file space.

Thanks for the warning. I had downloaded the 33.2 firmware, but have not installed it yet. I think I'll keep the older 30.9 version.
