Nexus 4 Pro Firmware (and APP) Bugs & Issues Thread [UPDATED 27th September 2024]

Appears the new Vantrue RC07 waterproof rear camera has been just released. States that it's a Starvis 2 sensor at 1080p, so estimating that would be the IMX662

Waiting for mine to reach. Aside from the expected image quality improvements, the mount design is what I'm excited about. The rear window of my wrangler is prone to water drips inside the back window, which becomes difficult to clean with the camera mounted. Being able to flip the camera out would make things easier.

Niiice, report back how it goes for you 🙂

I did the install over the weekend and early testing shows a noticeable improvement. I only tested at night so far, but compared to the previous camera, the colors are better along with the details and dynamic range. It came with two mounts and extra adhesive, which was convenient. I ended up using the second mount since I was installing it inside of the rear window. The build quality also feels durable as it should be for a camera advertised to be used on the vehicle's exterior.

My device no longer turns on after applying this update. It said "restarting to apply update" or something and then turned off, and never turned on again.

Tried taking out the sd card, using the reset button, different usb cables and power supplies, nothing seems to work

Have you tried resetting the dashcam with the Reset pinhole where the memory card slot area is? Failing that, you'll have to get in touch with Vantrue support directly

Yeah Vantrue support linked me to this page to download the force update files: https://www.vantrue.net/Support/detail/id/136.html
I then placed them on an empty SD card, put it into the device and plugged it in. Works fine now 🙂

The Link leads to the N4 firmware, not the N4 Pro firmware.
Did you accidentally download the N4 Pro firmware and tried to install it while having the normal N4?

I'm having trouble connecting to the camera via the app after the latest update. Is anyone else having issues?

could you please check the direct message we sent
I did a reset on the camera and it's working as intended. I'm not sure what caused it, but I recently had Samsung card die in it and I swapped back to the Vantrue card.
