no audio after firmware update - broken microphone?

I updated the firmware on my A129 Pro Duo to A129Pro: V2.9 build: 20230926 and now no audio is recorded even though I have the settings to turn microphone on. The red led for mic is on and the green microphone icon is present. I am watching the videos on my computer and made sure my speakers were working at the time of playing the recordings. The cam is out of warranty and the five year mark would be in November. The GPS module recently failed causing the recordings to last a few seconds and me to update the firmware.

Any ideas on how to fix the microphone not picking up audio?

This seems a bit unlikely.

Have you tried going to the menu and resetting to default settings?

If that doesn't work then I suggest asking Viofo Support.

Is there a audio when you view the videos on the camera? If not, try to update the firmware againt to test if it will help.
 
I think you should Factory Reset, as sometimes the settings migrating between firmwares don't match and cause problems.
