First time poster but when you think something works well you generally don't seek out forums asking questions.

I purchased a F7NP in January 2025. I had it professionally installed and hard wired into my car. I was rear ended which resulted in me being sandwiched. I had videos at 09:17 (immediately pre accident) and 09:19 (post accident). The crucial footage was not captured on either front or rear. Was this a malfunction? I think so, but why? The whole purpose of installing this thing to to capture events of this nature.

Fortunately, the police knew the accident was not my fault and the driver who hit me was insured and profusely apologetic. Nobody was hurt though his airbags did deploy. Mine didn't.

Any input was be appreciated.

How did you view the videos? Did you view the videos on a desktop computer or via the smartphone app?

Desktop computer. The car cut off and I couldn't connect to the camera wifi. I disconnected the camera and took it home with me, but of course, the power connectors were in the car. I can't figure out what kind of power cord/adapter I need to plug it in a home. I can't see anything in the app without connecting to the camera.

A lot of these dash cameras put the incident / locked videos in a seperate folder.

For example viofo puts it into an RO folder which really should be renamed to EVENT or incident but for some reason it says RO. I would check the other folders

I was able to power up the camera but the F7N network is not available. When the camera was installed I could always connect to this network on my phone via the WIFI. I can only conclude that my camera failed. I won't indict all Red Tiger cameras because I've seen innumerable videos of the kind I sure would have liked to have captured on mine. I thoroughly researched these things and this seemed the brand to get based on quality and price. However, I'll probably be moving away from Red Tiger for my next dash cam purchase. Thanks @SafeDriveSolutions for all of your input.

Not quite sure with Redtiger, but I've seen it before with other dash cams where they put the lock/accident videos on the parking videos folder.

With regards to the Wi-Fi of the dash cam, have you tried manually turning on Wi-Fi via the settings? If I remember correctly, I believe you can also long press the up/lock button to enable Wi-Fi.

Welcome to the club @Ganjulama
That is really weird.
Whatever you do, don't format the SD Card.
It's gotta be on there somewhere.
I just tagged @Redtiger maybe they can help.

Red Tiger may have great reviews. But honestly we find so many challenges with the product and overall I just do not like that they lie about the specs of their dash cameras. I think it is a bad way to start your relationship with the customer.

In terms of the sd card failing to record everytime a customer has said that to me with one of our cameras I have found the video except once.

But the reason video was gone is because customer was looking for video 3 weeks after accident and video was long gone with that model.

I have seen cameras fail but typically most of our brands are approx 1-2% overall failure rate.

Sd cards also do fail it happens but they should not fail on impact and it could be sue to sd card tray moved when impact occured

Perhaps it wasn't able to shut down properly and finalize the last video. The raw data might be there but it's complicated to get to it.
