I think these might be too noisy.
Will cool a phone that is gaming just fine probably, but a dashcam with a microphone right there that need to catch minute sounds ?

I have more faith in the frore coolers which have no moving parts and so are fairly low noise. https://www.froresystems.com/

Those are interesting. I have read posts on other forums where people use them on phones for gaming, and they apparently do quite well. They use a Peltier effect to drop the temperature and are very efficient. The issue we had with them is that the Peltier modules tend to produce frost/condensation that melts, which, of course, leads to water. Better units, as you have linked, have the intelligence to stay above the 'frost line'. If they could control fan noise with bearings and blade/fin design, these might work well in a dashcam designed for their presence.

Very nice insights, i might still investigate as I'm hoping the fan noise isn't super loud. So although audio is important for dashcams, maybe there's a way there. Obviously might get the thinner version as that would work out better

I have a Black Shark 3 Pro. It worked great for my GoPro in summer.

It takes something like 20 watts and makes a lot of heat, so in an enclosed space there will be more heat overall i.e. a closed car.

I could test it with a dashcam if you'd like and a thermal camera, see what happens?
