I've only had the Lukas LK 7900 for a month and the power connection is shot. I have a generic cord but am worried that if I get the polarity wrong it could fry the unit. Anyone know if getting the polarity wrong will damage the unit? Thanks.

if the design is good it would have reverse polarity protection built in (if it's good), if the power plug is the regular cannon tip type then you should find it's center positive, outer negative anyway, it's a standard config that stops you shorting things out

I am concerned that you might be wrong about that cable. How did you test it?
