I just installed my E1 Pro, on my car, the cigarette lighter is hot all the time. I want to wire the camera so it comes on when the car is started. I'm not concerned with parking monitor. I can't seem to find a kit that I can wire directly to a keyed 12 supply. I must be missing something?????

You can use a Vantrue 3-wire hardwire kit, but instead of connecting the constant power wire to a constant power source, you would connect the hardwire kit's constant power and accessory power wire to a switched/accessory power source. If you find a switched/accessory power fuse box fuse socket, you would use a fuse tap to obtain that power from the fuse box and connect the hardwire kit's constant and accessory power wires to the fuse tap's single power wire. You still need to connect the hardwire kit's ground wire to a suitable metal location [screw/bolt/unpainted body metal].

It looks like the mount has a 5 VDC USB-C input. Do you have a USB-C / USB-A port in the console or on the dash that is not powered when the ignition is off?

Vantrue offers an OBDII hardwire and a 3 wire hardwire kit. The 3 Wire Hardwire kit attach to a Battery (fuse active when car is off), Accessory ( fuse active only when car is started) and ground wire. This permits parking recording / mode and also starts the camera when the car is started.

The OBDII will also turn the camera on when the car is started, too.

Thanks for the ideas. Car is 85 BMW 3 series, fuse box in the engine compartment. Sitting in the car yesterday deciding how much I don't want to have to run wires through the firewall I noticed the USB port on the radio. Looks like the fix! Thanks again!

USB port on radio has nothing to do with OBD II. The OBD II is a diagnostic port that always provides power.
