question: how to hook up this monitor

came with this power cord, does black just connect to a ground? just sort of confused since if that is the case don't i need to strip the cable? or do most wires in a car also have a ground?

ive never spliced anything, do most wires have a separate grounds? or would i have to ground it to something metal?

depends where you are going to get power from but most of the vehicle is wired common ground and there's just a positive wire
