Redtiger sent me their F17 Elite 3-channel dash camera. They want me to gather some interior camera "Ultra-Color" footage. I like the fact that the front camera lens can be adjusted up/down, left/right and it can be rotated.

Video footage: Front 3840x2160 25fps, Rear 2560x1440 30fps, 1920x1080 20fps.

The time-lapse parking mode video files are stored in the same directories as the normal mode video files. There's no file name suffix difference between the video file types.

This morning, I'm going on a quick test run to make sure I have all of the cameras aimed correctly.

To close out this thread for me, I just sent back the F17 Elite and a replacement F17 Elite dash camera to Redtiger.

There were multiple problems with the first unit:
  • Buttons on the bottom of the unit rattled.
    • I "solved" that by placing a piece of felt padding tape across the buttons.
  • The plastic windshield mount that slides onto the upper mount loosened up after being exposed to direct sunlight for a week or so.
    • I tried a field patch for this issue by adding a very thin piece of automotive noise reduction felt padding on the top side of the mount that slides into the plastic piece.
    • That solved about 80% of the looseness.
  • The front camera mount at the base where it attaches to the front half of the front camera case was "flexible".
    • The weight of the front/interior camera body was enough to cause the front camera case to bounce around a bit while driving.
The combination of all of the loose front mount issues was enough to produce bouncy front and interior camera video. Redtiger sent me a replacement F17 Elite. The only issue that was fully resolved was the button noise issue. Rather than spend a lot of time on this product, I sent both of them back to Redtiger.
