I recall being told every so often to reformat the sd-card but I forget. I rarely download or remove the card. I think I've got a 32Gb or a 64Gb in there now. Advice?

Hello, yes I'd set a calendar appointment to take a look confirm your dashcam operation every 3-6 months and format the card in the camera. If you're the type to take the card out to review things on the computer every so often, a good time to format the card is when the card is put back into the dashcam. If you never take it out, the calendar appointment is probably a good idea.

Flash Memory/Cards don't last forever they are a consumable. They will need to be replaced eventually depending large the card is and how many hours it's been used. (should last "years")

Is there anything new by way of Windows software to review the recording? I have the RegistratorViewer

yes 3 more:

1) DashCamViewer:
http://DashCamViewer.com (limited to 5 files at a time unless you pay for the full version)

2) Here is another alternative Windows Playback software solution. (and it's free) We should see even more playback options in the future.
