Dash Cam
More than I can review. ;)
This is recently released I believe.
This 360 tachograph dash camera is very small and lightweight.
Some white labels for model/site and chrome tip ring on the lens but otherwise glossy black.
It has 2" LCD screen on the back.

BTW, the model is 360, not FOV. ;)

**********************************
Conclusion:
Video quality during daytime is pretty good for very low VBR.
In fact it's better than generic G1Wx models.
Night is not very good. Looks okay in lighted areas but grainy in low light.
Audio is good, loud and clear.
Good enough for basic entry level dashcam.
Works fine with 32GB class 10 card.
It's very small and black so not that noticeable.

Cons: The menu is in Chinese and no way to switch to other languages.
Very limited menu options. Settings only has format/reset to default, mic on/off, LCD on/off.
No option to change video resolution or any other settings except mentioned above.
When you don't click anything on settings, it automatically goes out of settings and starts to record.
It's good thing but it does that very quick and you have to stop and go to menu all over again.

Overall, decent dashcam if you are starting or in a budget.

There is some confusion on what chip it uses as there are quite a few different models with same image.
Some sites mention Allwinner while others mention Ambarella A7LA55 with 1296p in the ad so I'll have to test once I figure out the Chinese menu.

[Update: It doesn't have A7LA55 as there is no resolution other than 1080p so it must be using Allwinner]

The camera is small, lightweight and feels pretty well made.
Mount is unique and slides all the way from one side.

Unboxing video:

Product box and contents:
Product box is very small and printed specifically for the model.
The box includes following items:
  1. 360 Tachograph Dashcam.
  2. Suction cup mount that can rotate all around.
  3. 5v 1A Car USB dongle.
  4. USB to right angled micro USB cable for power.
  5. Printed car with app download link.
  6. Yellow sticker - not sure what it says. Anyone here know Chinese? ;)
  7. Glass cleaning wipes in a small pouch.

Looking from back, on the right edge, there are micro USB port and microSD slot:

Back has LED status indicator light, Power/menu, record start/stop and emergency buttons on the right of LCD screen:
Power button also works as Mic on/off while recording.

Side-by-side with Nautilus Nemo's Eye, Git1 and SJ7000 to show how small the 360 dashcam is.

Firmware version: :0.3.2.8"

Folders and files:
Root folder has 'DCIM', 'EMERGENCY' and 'MISC' folders.
DCIM has 100MEDIA subfolder with all the normal video files as well as thumbnail files.
EMERGENCY folder is for triggered video files. It saves 1 minute video, 10 seconds before and 50 seconds after the trigger.
Not sure what MISC is. It has a blank file named format.txt. Maybe to keep track on when card was formatted.
File names are not date time so you have to go through modified date to look for a clip.

File size and VBR:
A 3 minute clip is only 122 mb and few are as big as 184 mb.
Overall VBR is very low at 5.59 mbps for 122 mb file and around 7 mbps for 184 mb file. This suggests, it is not using Ambarella A7LA55 chip but rather is Allwinner.
Video VBR is 5.1 mbps and audio VBR is 32 Kbps.

360 File Properties.png

Night VBR is higher at 8.8 mbps and a 3 minute file is 204mb in size.

Cloudy day screenshots:
Video quality is pretty good considering how low the VBR is.
I have seen dashcams double this VBR not as good as this.

Don't mind the ice and dirt on right. Wipers can't go that far.

It has huge 360 logo on top left and date time on the bottom left.

Cloudy day videos: Video quality is good. Doesn't have great resolution but seems natural and pretty clean with all areas in focus.
Didn't expect this much quality from 5 mbps video.

Audio replaced as I see mic icon with a line but couldn't figure out menu to turn it back on.
Will try more later.

Night video screenshots:
Night is of average quality.
It's pretty good where there is light but dark areas lack details.
Enough for seeing vehicles and other objects though.

Night videos:

Interestingly, night videos are bigger in size, 204 mb for 3 minute clips and have 8.8 mbps VBR.

Sunny day video and screenshots with original audio:
Audio is pretty good.
Loud and clear without distortion.
The power button acts as mic mute/on if pressed once while recording.

Residential area to freeway:

Mountainside Freeway: Icy lake at 1:20.

So, it's a Swann without 2k. Or should we say "another generic"?

Yes, it'd be another generic Chinese model and not Ambarella as the only option is 1080p.

Then it's a generic case with a dashcam in it. ;)

Swann are just a customer so may spec the product they purchase differently, not having greater than 1080p doesn't mean it can't be Ambarella, resolutions offered can be limited by which sensor is used or just how the firmware is setup

if it has photo mode take a picture and check the properties and it will usually ID the chipset

Good idea.
Will try photo.
