Thank you @JIVAN for sending Vantrue S1 dashcam for review.
This camera is based upon Novatek NT96663 processor and Sony Sensor .

Summary: Slanted design, capacitor, dual channel.
Daytime videos look very good, specially the rear camera.
Night video is also pretty decent.

Vantrue S1 folders, files, bit rate:

Root has EVENT and NORMAL folders.
Front camera videos have _###A at the end and rear camera files have _###B at the end.
Files have date and time in the name.

Seems like a nice cam.. not bad at all.. Thanks for the write up..

But I still won't purchase another Vantrue.. They're service has been terrible for me. I've been trying to see if I can get a replacement front lens for my N2 Pro and they've been ignoring me. Not even to day no.

Hi, have you contacted them with the order number and has your dashcam out of the warranty?

I originally tried to contact them via Amazon.. When I had issues with the battery not holding time for more than 36 hrs, they responded pretty quick telling me it was normal. When I asked about a lens, they clammed up. I tried posting in the Vantrue section here and sending PMs to them and no response.. Others here have posted too and still nothing.

I feel they are very good at marketing, but after sales is poor, unless it relates to marketing..

BTW, I also had their GPS mount. I ordered it when they switched to a new design. I never checked to see what I had gotten.. After about 6 months, I found I had the original design. Eventually I just ordered their "Redesigned" gps mount.. Hahahaha.. Even their redesigned one eventually comes lose. Sure, I can tighten it, but it never gets as tight as when it was new.

It seems that Vantrue keeps switching people around so whoever you are dealing with today might not be there next week :( Such a rapid employee turn-over makes you wonder what kind of company it is that can't find and keep good people on their staff :rolleyes: My N2Pro was my primary cam for about a year and I was quite happy with it but the battery is getting weak now (probably the summer heat here).

I'd call them mid-grade cams with some models having rather unique features which will appeal to certain market segments, but they might not be as well-aligned with mainstream dashcam buyers. This one seems to be getting closer to that with the supercaps, IMX 327/323 sensors, and the front cam form-factor. Whether it's worth the cost is something for the buyer to decide; just know the CS may be a problem should you need it. Hopefully you won't.

I have no idea why I never thought to message them on FB. Maybe I should post it on their main page, if they allow it to see if they respond. Even if they do respond, it's still piss poor service when they wouldn't respond to emails, and message from this board and through Amazon.

It's true @crabu2. There are many people who do not use certain methods of communication and it's not good when a company tries to restrict their customer communications to one method while simply ignoring all the others. I'm certain that SG has a smaller staff then Vantrue, but they can do it so there's no excuse for Vantrue (or Blackvue, Thinkware, JooVoo, etc) to not do it :( That says a lot about how much a company cares about it's customers, which to me as both a businessman and a customer is very important. If I ignored my customers like this I'd be out of business in months, maybe sooner :eek:

Vantrue can make a good product but it takes more than that to make a good business;)
