I was just looking through my A329T's memory card and I've noticed it's storing tons of images for all 3 channels. Looks like they are from parking mode. What would trigger the dashcam to save an image in addition to a video? How can we disable this?

Those photos are created when an impact event is detected in parking mode [buffered parking modes - not low power impact detection]. If you look at the filename sequence numbers for the photo files ["Movie\Photos" directory], they should be similar to parking mode video files for that impact event ["Movie\RO" directory].

Here are some examples from my A329S configured for low bitrate parking mode. This was a 1-channel configuration

I had incorrectly stated my A329S was in low power impact detection parking mode, but it was in low bitrate parking mode. I was testing low power impact detection on another VIOFO dash camera as I wrote my reply. Sorry for the confusion.

A photo is saved when the g-sensor is triggered, if you press the event button, or you can program one of the BTR200 action buttons to take a photo without marking the video as read-only.

When I first tested the A329T I reported to Viofo that photos were being over-written at the same 'age' as the oldest non-event videos. At the time I was using the remote button to take photos for comparison in my review (HDR on/off, CPL on/off etc) and found that after a couple of days those images were no longer on the card. This was fixed in a FW update, but to be honest I've not reviewed the Photos folder lately to see if it's looping on its own schedule (like the RO folder) or growing in size.

Ah I had no idea this was happening since I don't really use the photos or ever check that directory, lol. You learn something every day! 🙂
