Scosche EZTIP - Reversible Micro-USB has finally arrived

So reversible USB type-A connectors have been around for a while now, and now Scosche have launched their new reversible micro-USB compatible connector called the EZTIP.

The products aren't cheap but now there is no need for owners of Micro-USB devices to get USB type-C envy 🙂

I'll be ordering one of these when they hit the UK for sure 🙂

For sure it will not work with all the devices as most microUSB female PCB connector is like this one:

There's not much detail on the site, but I would suspect there's some sort of mechanism that allows the center pin pad area to either pivot or slide into the correct position. Otherwise, the cable would be completely useless.

Scosche tend to make decent products (I've noticed CostCo sell their stuff too these days) so odds are good they've already been through the R&D to make this work if they're hitting the market with it 🙂

The cheap clones that are bound to hit the market afterwards are guaranteed to have issues though - probably with longevity

Scosche = quality. That's the one I'd get if I wanted one of these. It's not always easy making the connector go in, but I really don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is that only a few of my cables will go in to all jacks, many will not go even though they are supposed to. So I have only my old phone charger and one cable to my PC at the desk which fit everything; the other cables work with some things but not all.

Finesse is better than force 😉
