Screen flickering

I just got back to installing my moms dashcam again since I had to remove it from the last car when she sold it. I turned it on and the screen is flickering. Is this just being in the heat/sun?(florida)

Sorry in advance, it decided to pour when I started to finish installing -.-

Would a format/reset fix it?
Also it is on the original firmware
SG20170831_V1.12 (Release version)
(if that matters)

I thought I had updated it at some point but I guess not.

Screen flicker is usually an indication of poor power. How are you powering it?

Hardwire kit. I did realize I put the power cord in the wrong spot and it bent some of the plastic in the hardwire plug.

Just to rule out the cable, I just tried the original 12v plug straight into it and it still flickers

*edit*"I just looked in the camera port and don't see anything damged
